BERNINA Presser Feet
Pintuck and decorative-stitch foot with clear sole #46C makes it a breeze to sew fetching pintucks and then embellish them evenly.
The clear sole provides a perfect view of the stitching area at all times. The pintucks are sewn first, with the finished pintucks lying in the grooves on the bottom of the foot. In a second step, the Pintuck and decorative-stitch foot with clear sole #46C is used to embellish the pintucks with precisely parallel lines of stitching – so there’s no need to trace the lines beforehand.
Buttonhole foot #3C is ideally suited to sewing buttonholes, as well as gathering with cord or elastic (smocking). Thanks to its practical grooves, Buttonhole foot #3C is able to glide smoothly over the thread beads of the buttonhole, enabling particularly easy and precise sewing.
The upper thread can be conveniently pulled to the back through the slot in Buttonhole foot #3C before you begin sewing. In this way, attractive buttonholes with and without cording can easily be sewn in the desired length.
Blindstitch foot #5 is the invisible-hemming expert. When you sew a blind-hem with this foot, the stitching can scarcely be seen from the front. With Blindstitch foot #5 the stitch is formed over a special blade that acts as a guide, creating a slightly loose stitch so that the hem lies nice and flat.
When the fabric is pressed flat, the needle-penetration points on the front of the fabric “close up”, making the seam virtually invisible. What’s more, the guide blade ensures an even distance to the folded edge, allowing the hem to be sewn neatly and consistently.
Embroidery foot #6 is ideal for satin stitching and other dense stitch patterns. The wide channel under the sole allows it to glide effortlessly over thicker and wider stitch formations without fabric feed being affected.
The result is a neat and consistent stitch pattern. Embroidery foot #6 also features a small hole in the center of the foot for couching a narrow cord or elastic.
This makes it a cinch to sew attractive edge finishes and gorgeous embellishments with this presser foot.
Lap-seam foot #70 enables you to sew precise lapped and flat-felled seams in light and medium weight fabrics.
The square toe on the right of the presser foot acts as a guide for turned-under fabric edges on sportswear, jeans, and men’s shirts.
The small channel on the left-hand side of Lap-seam foot #70’s presser foot tip holds the fabric edge in place for the second line of stitching. This versatile presser foot is also suitable for sewing reversible garments.
Short adapter shank #77 is the shortened version of Standard adapter shank #75. Serving as a connecting piece between needle bar and accessory, Short adapter shank #77 allows other manufacturers’ presser feet to be used on BERNINA machines.
If these feet are short-shanked, they won’t fit on the machine’s standard holder without an adapter. By contrast, Standard adapter shank #75 is used e.g. with BERNINA sewing accessories such as Simple binder #85 or Ruffler attachment #86. Please note that, unlike with the Simple binder, the special BERNINA Binder foot #95 is to be used for binder attachments for pre-folded (#87) and unfolded (#88) bias tape. This will ensure the optimal functioning of these presser feet.
