Straight-stitch foot with non-stick sole #53 is specially suited for straight-stitching on "sticky" materials such as leather, plastic or duck cloth. Gliding easily over the material, it presses down securely all the while.
Straight-stitch foot with non-stick sole #53 therefore guarantees a meticulous, pucker-free job on both heavy and fine materials. What’s more, its toes of different widths are suitable for two different seam allowances. Owing to its design and special features, Straight-stitch foot with non-stick sole #53 is also superbly suited for topstitching.
Ruffler #86 is a specialist in the simple gathering and pleating of fabrics. Thanks to its variable setting options, both pleat depth and frequency of gather can be varied.
This means that Ruffler #86 can set a pleat with every stitch, every 6th stitch, or every 12th stitch, as you choose. There’s also the option of sewing without pleating, without replacing the presser foot (ruffler setting = 0).
Gathering is performed by the special gathering blade, which causes the up-and-down motion of the needle to catch a bit of fabric each time and slip it under the needle.
The result: neat, even gathering and pleats on home furnishings or garments. The depth of the pleat can be infinitely varied by turning the adjusting screw.
Zigzag hemmer #66 offers the advantage of a dedicated hemming foot for medium weight fabrics. The fabric is fed into the scroll from the front and turned under twice for before reaching the needle.
The hem is then sewn with a zigzag stitch. The guide in the sole of Zigzag hemmer #66 enables the hem to advance smoothly under the foot.
With a stitch width of 6 mm, this BERNINA presser foot is ideal for sewing projects using medium weight fabrics.
Straight-stitch hemmer #64 is ideal for hemming medium weight fabrics. This presser foot accomplishes several steps in a single sewing operation.
The scroll on the front of the presser foot turns the fabric edge under twice. The double-turned hem stops the fabric edge from fraying later.
A guide in the presser foot sole guides the turned-under fabric to the needle hole, where the fabric is sewn with a straight stitch into a sturdy 4 mm wide hem. The finished hem then easily advances underneath the foot, enabling smooth sewing.
Leather roller foot #55 ist a master at working on “sticky” materials such as leather, suede or plastic. It’s also ideal for quilting and sewing multiple layers of fabric.
Leather roller foot #55 features a wheel with a textured surface, which helps it roll easily over fabric and enables simple, precise sewing of curves and straight lines, as well as the couching of braiding and cords. An especially practical feature is the clear view of the entire stitching area, letting you create attractive stitching on home furnishings and garments in next to no time.
Quilting foot #29 is a special presser foot for easy free-motion, outline and stipple quilting.
The vertical spring presses the foot securely to your project, preventing the fabric from riding up with the needle (flagging). The material therefore lies flat while it is being sewn, allowing you to produce neat, consistent stitches.
For even greater sewing ease, Quilting foot #29 features a clear sole, affording you a perfect view of both needle and stitching area at all times.
When it comes to appliquéing with a narrow satin-stitch (up to 2 mm), Appliqué foot #23 is the expert: its sophisticated design allows the fabric to feed easily over the stitches, even in the case of very dense rows of stitching.
A cutout on the front of the presser foot will hold a narrow couching thread, making for trouble-free sewing of satin-stitching with cording. With its wide thread channel under the sole, Appliqué foot #23 is also ideal for sewing mini-piping, or for traditional sewing techniques.
And since Appliqué foot #23 features a clear sole, you’ll have a perfect view of the stitch area at all times – a decisive advantage, especially when following outlines and corners.
Button-sew-on foot #18 is an all-rounder for sewing on buttons, snap fasteners and eyelets. Its non-slip sole holds the button securely in place while it is sewn on.
In addition, Button-sew-on foot #18 has an adjustable middle toe, allowing you to vary the height of the thread shank according to fabric thickness. The middle toe can be flipped up and away when not in use.
In addition to buttons and closures, Button-sew-on foot #18 allows you to attach decorative embellishments such as sequins or bows.
Gathering foot #16 is suitable for gathering lightweight-to-medium weight fabrics. The fabric is gathered automatically while being sewn.
What’s more, the special indentation in the sole of Gathering foot #16 allows you to sew the material being gathered to a flat piece of fabric in a single operation. For this, the flat material is slipped into the indentation so that it isn’t gathered at the same time.
Reverse-pattern foot with clear sole #34 affords a clear view of the needle and stitching area. The red markings on the top of the presser foot allow for especially precise and careful sewing.
A versatile, all purpose foot, Reverse-pattern foot with clear sole #34 is suitable for many forward and reverse-feed utility and decorative stitches, and is often used in general sewing projects, whether large or small.

Short adapter shank #77 is the shortened version of Standard adapter shank #75. Serving as a connecting piece between needle bar and accessory, Short adapter shank #77 allows other manufacturers’ presser feet to be used on BERNINA machines.
If these feet are short-shanked, they won’t fit on the machine’s standard holder without an adapter. By contrast, Standard adapter shank #75 is used e.g. with BERNINA sewing accessories such as Simple binder #85 or Ruffler attachment #86. Please note that, unlike with the Simple binder, the special BERNINA Binder foot #95 is to be used for binder attachments for pre-folded (#87) and unfolded (#88) bias tape. This will ensure the optimal functioning of these presser feet.

Jeans foot #8 is especially suited for sewing straight-stitched seams in tough, heavy fabrics such as denim, linen or canvas. Multi-layered fabrics also benefit from its special design.
When combined with the straight-stitch plate and its narrow needle opening, which gives the needle the greatest possible stability, the flat sole of this foot makes it easier for the foot to glide over the thick layers of fabric.
Jeans foot #8 is also ideal for straight-stitching medium weight and thin materials. Please note that the new BERNINA Dual Feed only works with type-D presser feet.
As well as for marking seam lines, Tailor-tack foot #7 can be used for sewing elegant embellishments, imitation hemstitch (fagotting), fringe, and 3D effects.
When sewing together two pieces of fabric with Tailor-tack foot #7 the thread tension is loosened slightly, so that the thread can pass easily over the ridge in the center of the foot. The zigzag stitch used forms loose loops which then slide off to the back thanks to the special V-shaped opening on the foot.
For marking seam lines or darts, the fabric is carefully pulled apart after sewing. The Tailor-tack foot #7 can also be used for decorative purposes.
Roll- and shell hemmer #69 is a special presser foot for hemming soft fabrics such as tricot.
With the aid of a scroll, it turns the fabric under twice, holding it together securely in the channel guide in the sole of the foot until it is sewn. The result is a narrow, slightly three-dimensional hem.
Depending on your choice of stitch, Roll- and shell hemmer #69 can also sew a scalloped hem. In addition, it is suitable for sewing on lace and trim.
The Straight-stitch plate is a professional tool for large and small straight stitch projects. It guarantees precise stitch formation when sewing using straight stitch, thus ensuring clean, attractive sewing results. The slightly larger hole compared to the standard straight stitch needle plate guarantees great results.
Due to its excellent stabilisation and guidance of the material, the Straight- stitch plate is also suitable for various embroidery techniques as well as other demanding sewing projects, such as patchwork.
