Warranty Terms

Your New Product from BERNINA is a result of fine engineering and has passed rigid factory quality controls and accordingly, is warranted against defects in materials, construction, and workmanship, under normal use. Any such defects will be rectified either by repair or replacement of parts only at no cost. Labour charges may apply.

BERNINA Singapore warrants its products to work properly during the warranty period. The warranty covers material only (except parts under tear and wear).

 If a product is acquired for, or used in business or schools, the warranties are reduced as set out above. Businesses or schools can request a purchase for an extended warranty from our sales representative together with your product, or within 30 days from the product purchase date or delivery date (whichever is later).

Warranty does not cover damage arising from abuse, misuse, or lack of reasonable care by the user, nor the replacement of the parts arising from normal wear and tear. The following parts are considered tear and wear and are therefore exempt from warranty

  • Lamps (bulbs, CFL, LED)
  • Belts
  • Needles
  • Motor brushes
  • Hooks
  • Bobbins
  • Thread cutter
  • Thread head
  • Hook race cover (CB only)
  • Feed dog
  • Any type of knifes / blades

 

PLEASE NOTE Any modifications made by individuals or organizations other than BERNINA International AG, BERNINA Singapore Pte Ltd and an authorised BERNINA Dealer voids this warranty.

 

TRANSFERBILITY The warranty is not transferable, valid only for original purchaser and original BERNINA dealer from which product was purchased.

 

TOTAL LIABILITY Our total liability with respect to this warranty against defects is limited, at our option to, the replacement of the goods or the repair of the goods. We will not be liable for any special, indirect, consequential or economic loss or damage or loss of profits (in contract or tort or arising from any other cause of action) suffered by you or any other person resulting from any act or omission by us.

 

MAKING A CLAIM The Warranty Registration Card must be completed and returned to us or; you can choose to register online (https://shop.bernina.com.sg/pages/register-your-product) within 30 days. Any claim made under this warranty must be made by returning the product to your authorized Bernina store of purchase. If you are unsure about where to return the product, please contact Bernina (Singapore) Pte Ltd at +65 8752 9698 or by email: info@bernina.com.sg We will not be liable for any costs, loss or damage incurred in connection with transportation or delivery of the product to our authorized dealer or us. Upon delivery of the product to our authorized dealer we will assess the product and determine if the fault or problem is covered by this warranty. We will advise you by telephone, email or in writing whether the fault is covered by this warranty.

 

STATUTORY GUARANTEES This warranty against defects is provided in addition to other rights or remedies you, as a consumer, may have at law. Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Singapore Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
